THE BLADE 'DELTA QUEEN'

Introducing the ‘Delta Queen’ from the esteemed ‘Blade’ guitars, founded by industry icon Gary Levinson.

In 1987 Mr Levinson set forth to create his own range of guitars focussing on the highest integrity build, alongside the most innovative developments. Later that year, Blade guitars were unveiled to expectant eyes and ears at the Tokyo Music Show, and the rest, as they say…is history.

Fast forward to the present day, and the results of Gary’s unwavering commitment to building the finest quality guitars, full of revolutionary innovations are plain to see in guitars such as this, the Blade Delta Queen. The Delta Queen features the ground-breaking ‘Variable Spectrum Control’ (VSC) a hugely versatile means of shaping the guitars tone, Adjustable Tension Guide (ATG), and other innovations such as the ‘EZ Access Neck Rod’ for quick and simple access to the truss rod.

A Sleek, Curvacious Body, Exquisitely Finished

The Delta Queen’s body is unquestionably stunning, wrapped in slender curves and sleek routing for maximum comfort. The body is made from Okoume, a tonewood which behaves incredibly similarly to mahogany in its resonance and has proven popular and seen increased use with some of the most respected manufacturers in the world today.

The use of Okoume offers many advantages, both sonically and otherwise. Firstly, Okoume makes for a warm, mellow sound whilst responding thoroughly well to low frequencies, and pronounced lower mids with magnificent sustain and resonance. Secondly, Okoume, whilst similar to mahogany in its characteristics and tonal behaviour, is not similar in its physical weight. Good news for those guitarists who often find themselves performing prolonged sets and for those long, hard days in the studio!

The Delta Queen's fingerboard is made from Pau Ferro, arguably similar in appearance to rosewood, but tighter in grain which results in a ‘snappier’ tone. Pau Ferro offers a deep, warm tone, and a smooth playing experience underneath the fingers. The neck itself is beautifully made and sit’s in the fretting hand with a brilliantly natural, comfortable and familiar feel. The neck is super-fast and extremely encouraging to play.

UNMATCHED SUSTAIN

The Delta Queen is packing some truly revolutionary technology. For example, the ‘Adjustable Tension Guide’ (ATG), this ATG technology, is unique to Blade guitars. It comprises of a small, spring loaded, height adjustable string tree which sits between the 1st and 2nd strings. This feature allows tension adjustment to compensate for the difference between various string gauges.

Furthermore, its asymmetric shape places slightly greater pressure to the 1st string than the 2nd, this design results in incredible sustain and minimum friction eliminating the majority of detuning problems.

The Delta Queen represents ‘Blade’ quality from top to bottom. Featuring unique technology, premium components and hardware far beyond its price point, the Delta Queen effortlessly breezes past other guitars in its peer group.

Featuring Levinson’s own ‘LH-35’ wide spaced humbucker in the bridge position, and a Levinson ‘LH-3’ humbucker, with enhanced treble and mids in the neck position; powerful, snarling tone is the name of the game here. From the raw, biting voice of the LH-35, to the thicker, creamier, rounder tones of the ‘LH-3’, the spectrum of tones on offer with the Delta Queen is truly vast. Control over the pickups is determined by a 3-way pickup selector, allowing for a choice of either bridge/bridge & neck/neck options. Modify the Delta Queen’s tone even further with the VSC control and there’s almost nothing the Delta Queen can’t turn her hand to!

The Delta Queen’s bridge system is dealt with via a sturdy and reliable 6-saddle bridge, which helps for any intonation issues and aids in retaining rock-solid tuning stability. Any concerns regarding any potential tuning issues can be firmly laid to rest thanks to the inclusion of the ‘Adjustable Tension Guide’ (ATG), this ATG technology, is unique to Blade guitars.
